After Attackers Exploit bug for $3.8M, Decentralized Exchange DODO recovers some Funds.

DODO the decentralized exchange finance, reported on Tuesday, reported that attackers stole $3.8 million by using the bugs in DODO’S v2 crowdpools smart contracts.

DODO identified that unlike the typical solitary attackers seen in major exploits like KUcoin and Harvest Finance, there are two seemingly independent attackers in the current attack.

The amount stolen DODO is estimated at $3.8 million.  However, $1.89 were recovered by DODO and this entails an estimated amount of 1,140,000 USDT and 411 ETH and the exchange have plans of returning the funds to the affected victims.

It is pertinent to note that counterfeit DODO tokens were created and exchanged from the real ones through the smart contract bug and this was done by the first actor DODO identified as first actor “Individual A’

Also, a well-known white-hacker, @samszsun was contacted by Individual A to aid them in returning the funds that were stolen back to DODO. It is imperative to add that anyone that hacks a protocol to expose the weakness  and strengthen the system rather than merely to gain profit therein is a white hacker.

On the other hand, the one that performed three exploits on the smart contract 10 minutes after Individual A, was named ‘Individual B’ by DODO and based on their actions, it is a suspected BOT isung CHI gastokens  putting their contact address with myriads of numerous 0’s and setting unusually gas prices that are high and it is not coherent whether individual B will return the funds to the decentralized exchange.

Finally, with a total valuation of $50 million last September, DODO posited that trading and DODO approved wallet addresses remain unaffected by exploits.
