Earlier today, about half billion Facebook users was leaked on well trafficked hacking forum. The information leaked are sensitive information such as Facebook ID, location, past location, email address, relationship status, phone number and bio.
The leak is a high risk to to myriads of cryptocurrency holders and holders, who may be vulnerable to Sim swapping and identity attacks.
Alon Gal, the CTO security Hudson Rock, was the first to identify the trove of information and which he tweeted:
All 533,000,000 Facebook records were just leaked for free.
The risk is in relation to vulnerability of security, which was identified in 2021 January and which it came to the knowledge of many, that hackers can have access to the user;s phone numbers; the leak has now expanded to include “Phone number, Facebook ID, Full name, Location, Past Location, Birthdate, (Sometimes) Email Address, Account Creation Date, Relationship Status, Bio.”
