Square Crypto has unveiled that it is building a “Lightning Development Kit” for bitcoin wallet and app developers, so they can more easily build on Bitcoin’s layer-two scaling solution.
The new kit, per the company’s announcement, includes an API, language tools, demo apps, and other features that are set to help developers add Lightning Network support into their own BTC wallets.
The aim is to both boost user experiences and help developers add LN support to existing wallets, instead of having to create new products. Square Crypto announced:
“For bitcoin to become a widely used global currency – one that can’t be stopped, tampered with or rigged in anyone’s favor – improvements to bitcoin’s UX, security, privacy, and scaling are required.”
The announcement never said anything on when it is scheduled to be launched.
The cryptocurrency market is becoming a force to reckon with which is making big tech giants like Facebook and others to key into the crypto space before it becomes too late for them.
